Back on the rear, we have this real wheel strap that comes up and around the frame of our back wheel, and straps it into this cradle onto our bike rack. Today on our 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to be test fitting the RockyMount Switch Hitter roof top bike rack, part number RKY1270. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go and take a closer look and show off some of the features. First off, how the bike actually attaches to the rack, we're going to have no frame contact at all. Instead, we have this quick release skewer up here at the front, which will grip your bike by the fork mounts. This will work with nine millimeter, excuse me, quick release skewers, or 12 to 15 millimeter through axles. At the back here, we have this strap here that'll hold the rear wheel into place. This strap is adjustable length of the bike rack, and this is going to help out with different size bikes. With everything attached right now, we have full access to our rear hatch, but we're now also not going to have any clearance issues between the hatch and the bike rack itself, as you can see here. It does have an integrated cable lock at the end, which you can wrap around your bike for additional security. more

RockyMounts Roof Bike Racks Review - 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan RKY1201- Video

Today on our 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan we're going to be test fitting the RockyMounts BrassKnuckles Roof Top Bike Rack, part number RKY1202. This is a pretty unique bike rack for the roof in that instead of having to remove your front wheel for say for a fork mount, you can actually leave it on and it grips your entire bike on the roof, and it still maintains no frame contact at all. Instead it uses this wheel hook up at the front and two wheel straps on each tire. These wheel straps are adjustable along the bike rack itself, and this is too accommodate different sized bikes. With the bike installed I'd like to show you that you have no clearance issues with the roof rack in this configuration between the hatch and the bike rack itself. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. We'll start by loosening up the wheel straps, pushing up on the top of the tabs which will release them. more

First we're going to show you how we secure our bike in to place and then go over some features of the rack itself. I'm actually going to step up into my vehicle, since it is a higher vehicle there. Now here in the back we have a ratcheting tire hold, this is going to push that entire bike up into our front tire hold. It ratchets down using our box here, where you just lift up and release that, it also locks into place as well which will prevent any theft or tampering of your bike rack and you bike. To release our entire bike we're going to hand on, open up our box here and let that back tire hold just fall back into place. more

Go ahead and press in the button there to disengage it and push it out all the way. Note that this does slide back and forth on the track to fit your multiple wheel bases that you may have. Inno Roof Bike Racks Review - 2015 Dodge Durango ina387- Video

Today on our 2015 Dodge Durango, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Inno Slim Fork Rooftop Mounted Bike Rack, part number INA387. As you can see, we've already got our bike up here, mounted so you can see what it's going to look like once you have it fully assembled and in place on your vehicle. First off let's go ahead and talk about how the bike is secured. On the back side, you're going to have a wheel clamp and a ratcheting device. If we loosen this up, you can hear it ratchet. When we tighten it up, you're going to tighten it until it clicks just like so. That will be nice and snug on the back side. more

Today on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, we will be test-fitting the Yakima Front-Loaded, Roof-Mounted Bike Rack. That's part number Y02103. Our Caravan here today already has its factory rails installed, so we can go ahead and begin by putting our bike rack on top or our rails. You want to make sure that our rail goes in between this on our bike rack. What I like to do is I like to come up underneath like that and then lay it down. We'll get in the position we want, making sure that it's straight in line there. Then we'll come up here and start tightening this down. more

Today, on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, we'll be test fitting the Yakima Forklift roof mounted bike rack. That's part number Y02098. Our Caravan here today already has its factory rails installed, so we can go ahead and begin. First, I want to go ahead and take our bottom cap off, makes for an easier installation. What we can do is we can push our little lock, so we can take it out. It just makes it a little bit easier to set it on top of our bars without it falling off. We'll go ahead and set it up there, and you can see how I've got it positioned. more

Kuat TRIO Roof Bike Racks Review - 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video

Today on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, we will be test fitting the Kuat Trio Roof Mounted Bike Rack, that's part number TR02. Our Caravan here today already has its factory rails installed so we can go ahead and begin by setting our bike rack on top. Now as you can see I've positioned it to where our bar sit evenly with this so I'll go ahead and do that. We'll make sure that it is even on our rails. Once we have that done, we will take our clamps, what you want to do is you want to run those up through the holes here. We'll do one at a time that way it makes it easy. We'll grab our screws and put them on that way our clamp does not fall back through. more

RockyMounts Roof Bike Racks Review - 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video

Today on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, we will be test fitting the Rocky Mount Brass Knuckles Roof Mounted Bike Rack, that's part number RKY1202. Our Caravan here already has its factory rails installed, we can go ahead and begin by setting our brass knuckles on top. You want to make sure that your straps are undone we can feed them underneath the rails. We go ahead and center that up best we can, then we'll come up top, we'll remove this. This is going to reveal our tightening screw and before you begin tightening that down, let me go ahead and show you that you straps are going to want to lodge up in here that we can tighten them. We'll lay it back down and we'll make sure that each strap is in its location we can tighten it down. more

Yakima FrontLoader Roof Bike Rack Review - 2014 Dodge Avenger- Video

Today on our 2014 Dodge Avenger, were going to be test fitting the Yakima FrontLoader, a wheel mount roof bike rack with part number Y02103. With our Yakima Q-tower roof rack system already installed on the Avenger, were going to begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our crossbars. Here at the front, well want the double leg side of our clamp in the front of our bar, and the single leg portion of our clamp behind the bar. Well then tighten the black T-handle located here on the front to secure our clamp around our bar. With the front secured, well move to the rear. Here well loosen the black T-handle, remove the T-bolt from the slot, bring our clamp around our bar, reinsert our T-bolt and tighten it down with the black T-handle. With our rack secured to our vehicle, its now time to load our bike. more

Yakima ForkLift Roof Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2014 Dodge Avenger- Video

Today, on our 2014 Dodge Avenger, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Forklift, a Fork Mount Roof Bike Rack with part # Y02098. With our Yakima Q Towers Roof Rack System already installed on the Avenger, we're going to begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly on to our cross bars. Here at front, we're going to remove the skewer, and slide back the black plastic cover. This will give us access to the T handle that will loosen enough to remove the T bolt from the lower half of the clamp. We'll then bring our clamp around our bar, reinsert the T bolt and tighten it down with the T handle. Once we have it secure, we'll slide our black plastic cover forward, then we can reinsert our front skewer. We'll now move to the rear where we're going to loosen the T handle, remove the T bolt from the slot and the clamp, bring our clamp around our bar, reinsert the T bolt into the appropriate slot, and tighten it using the T handle. With our rack secured to our vehicle, it's now time to load our bike. We'll undo the rear wheel strap, then make sure our front skewer is open and loose. more

Swagman Upright Roof Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2014 Dodge Avenger- Video

Today on our 2014 Dodge Avenger, we'll be test fitting the Swagman Upright, a roof bike rack with part number S64720. With our Yakima Q Towers roof rack system already installed on the Avenger, we're going to begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our crossbars. Here at the front, we'll bring a metal U bolt around the underside of our crossbar, fit it through the head of the carrier, and secure it with 2 wing nuts. We'll repeat that same process on the other side of the front, and then, we can tighten down all 4 wing nuts to secure out front to our bar. We'll now move to the rear. Here at the rear, we're going to place a U bolt down through the rack. We'll be sure that it comes out on both sides of our crossbar. We can slip on the metal plate and then hold this in place with the 2 wing nuts. We'll tighten these down to secure our rack. With both of them secure, it's time to load our bike. more

Swagman Fork Down Roof Bike Rack Review - 2014 Dodge Avenger- Video

Today on our 2014 Dodge Avenger, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down, a fork mount roof bike rack with part number S64710. With our Rhino Rack 2500 Series roof rack system already installed on the Avenger, we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack directly onto our load bars. Here at the front, we'll bring 2 of the U bolts around the underside of our bar, fit it through the head of our carrier, and hold them in place with 2 wing nuts on each one. We'll tighten them down to secure the front of our rack to our crossbars. With the front secure, we'll move to the rear. Here at the rear, we're going to bring a U bolt through the rack, being sure that it comes out on both sides of our bar. We'll bring the metal bracket around the underside of our bar and fit the U bolt through it and secure this in place using 2 wing nuts. We'll tighten these down to secure the rear of our rack to our crossbars. We're now ready to load our bike. We'll begin by undoing the rear wheel strap and making sure that our skewer is loose and open. more
